On the other hand, it helps to accentuate the "anything can happen" atmosphere of a sort of graphic novel come to life. David Selby is very good as Lucifer Grey, so it's worth giving it a try. I have mixed feelings about rotoscoping. The effect was used in Richard Linklater's A SCANNER DARKLY, and I thought it was so obvious a gimmick that it diminished an intriguing story.
